Samuel Vousden

7 GGMillion$ titles, 2024 WCOOP Main Event champion, $26M+ on GGPoker

Born in Hong Kong, raised in a small town in Finland, and built into one of the most prolific online tournament players in the world. Samuel Vousden has seven GGMillion$ titles, the 2024 WCOOP Main Event championship, and more than $26 million in earnings on GGPoker alone. His live record is minimal by design. He built his game online, he continues to dominate online, and he has the numbers to prove it.

Early Life and Background

Samuel Vousden was born in Hong Kong. His family relocated to Salo, a town in southwestern Finland, when he was young, and he grew up there. He holds Finnish nationality. He was raised by his mother, and finances during his upbringing were tight. The decision to pursue poker professionally was not made from a position of security: it was made because results were coming in and the math supported it.

He began playing poker online in the early 2010s, primarily on PokerStars under the username €urop€an. He also plays as Jhelppi on PartyPoker and under his real name on GGPoker.

His development as a player was shaped in part by participation in an online poker community that included Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, a British professional who is one of the most respected online MTT players in Europe. Vousden has credited that community environment, alongside Finnish player Tomi "elmerixx" Broukski, with helping him develop his approach to the game.

Early Online Results

His first significant result came around 2010, with a third-place finish in a WPT Online Championship $1,500 event for $60,489. In 2014, he won the $215 Sunday Million on PokerStars for $185,400, beating a field of 6,685 players. The Sunday Million win, one of the most prestigious weekly events in online poker history, announced him as a player capable of converting in large-field high-pressure spots.

In 2017, he claimed his first major high-roller win, taking down the SCOOP-41-H $5,200 NLHE 8-Max event on PokerStars for $252,525. That result was a statement of intent: he was not just a volume grinder but a player capable of winning expensive events against elite fields.

GGMillion$: Seven Titles

Vousden is the most decorated player in the history of the GGMillion$, GGPoker's flagship weekly MTT. The event runs every Sunday with a $10,300 buy-in and a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. His GGMillion$ record:

  • 7 titles (most all-time)
  • 36+ final tables
  • $25,998,306 in total GGPoker career earnings

He won back-to-back editions of the GGMillion$ Super High Roller in consecutive weeks, collecting $504,973 and $482,277.

2024 WCOOP Main Event: $1,007,058

In October 2024, Vousden won the PokerStars WCOOP $10,300 Main Event for $1,007,058. The result was his largest single documented cash and the pinnacle of his PokerStars career to that point. He described the win as confirming an elite status he had been building toward for years across both platforms.

WSOP Bracelet: 2021

Vousden's single WSOP bracelet came in August 2021 during the WSOP Online International series on GGPoker. He won Event #16: $1,050 GGMasters HR Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em for $274,519.

His documented live tournament earnings, as tracked by the Hendon Mob, stand at approximately $244,051. That figure reflects a career spent almost entirely online. His actual earnings across GGPoker, PokerStars, and PartyPoker exceed $26 million.

Grand Slam of Online Poker

Vousden is one of a very small number of players to have won titles across all four major online championship series: SCOOP, WCOOP, TCOOP (Turbo Championship of Online Poker), and the WSOP Online. The achievement has no official name but is recognized in the online poker community as completing the online Grand Slam.

Playing Style and Approach

Vousden is described as aggressive, adaptable, and consistent. His GGMillion$ record is built on sustained final table conversion across hundreds of tournaments rather than isolated results. He plays high volume and adjusts to shifting field compositions week to week. The consistency of his results in the GGMillion$ specifically, across seven wins and 36 final tables in an event that draws top online talent each week, places him in a category with very few peers.

He plays high-stakes events on PokerStars and GGPoker and has produced results at the $5,200-plus buy-in level across both platforms. The WCOOP Main Event win in 2024 demonstrated that his skills extend to the most prestigious events on the calendar, not only to regular weekly formats.

On maintaining perspective across a long career: "The ego gets worn away over time. You learn to lose better before you learn to win bigger."

Away from the tables, he plays padel and has ranked inside the top 100 in Finland. He meditates and spends time in nature as part of how he manages the psychological demands of high-volume tournament play.
