How to use this calculator

Grid mode

Click any cell to toggle it in or out of the range. Click and drag across multiple cells to select them in one motion. Use the position buttons (UTG, CO, BU, etc.) to load a standard 50bb opening range instantly. The slider sets range width from AA-only to all 169 hands.

Notation mode

Type a comma-separated range using standard poker notation. Examples:

  • JJ+ — JJ through AA
  • AQs+ — AQs and AKs
  • AKo — ace-king offsuit (12 combos)
  • AsKd — ace of spades, king of diamonds (1 combo)

Board cards

Click any board slot (Flop, Turn, River) to activate it, then click a card in the picker to assign it. Click an occupied slot to clear it. The simulation fixes those cards on the board and runs out only the remaining streets. Leave the board empty for a preflop equity calculation.

Reading the results

Win% is how often that range wins outright. Tie% is how often it splits the pot. Total equity = Win% + (Tie% / 2). Results use Monte Carlo simulation with 10,000 random matchups — accuracy is typically within 1%.

Range vs Range

Range vs range equity is one of the most important concepts in tournament poker. Instead of putting your opponent on one hand, you assign them a range of hands they would play the same way. Comparing your range against theirs tells you whether a call, raise, or fold is profitable over many repetitions.
